Sooner or later, no matter how hard you try to avoid it, you're likely to experience a little emergency in life. It might be something small, yet still requiring just the right care. Or it may be something more significant, which calls for fast, expert attention. That's why Natchez Community Hospital offers a full range of service in our comfortable Emergency Department. And, we're located close to home, so you have even less to worry about when minutes really matter.

Of course, you may never experience one of life's little mishaps…but if you should, Natchez Community Hospital’s Emergency Room has the skill, the technology, and the experience to know just what to do.

From sprains and strains to casts and stitches – and for more serious injuries and illnesses – Natchez Community Hospital’s Emergency Department has you covered. We have seven, totally private treatment rooms and or emergency department is staffed with experienced physicians, nurses and technicians who provide skilled and compassionate care when you need it most.

We are proud to be involved in the Mississippi Trauma Care Network and more specifically, the Southwest Mississippi Trauma Care Region. As a Level III Trauma Center, we stand ready to serve our area in trauma situations. We are proud to be the first hospital Emergency Department in Natchez to certify our nursing staff in Trauma care. Our full time registered nurses in the Emergency Department have earned their certification in Trauma Care Nursing.

We are also proud to staff our Emergency Department with local physicians who have earned a reputation for medical expertise in diagnosis and treatment. Our physicians have all completed the Advanced Trauma Life Support class offered for physicians only.

At Natchez Community Hospital, our goal is to take some of the fear and anxiety out of a trip to the emergency room. To begin with, when you enter our emergency department, you will be triaged by a registered nurse. In other words, you will see a Nurse first. Children entering the emergency department for treatment will feel right at home in our KidFriendly ER. Upon arrival, they will be given a brand new children’s book to read and take home. Once their visit is completed, they will also receive a KidFriendly PAK, complete with coloring book, colors and other fun items for children.
