This area consists of well-equipped operating rooms staffed with professionally trained specialists to assist your physician. Since procedures and preparations vary with different operations, your physicians, anesthesiologist and the members of the surgery nursing staff will explain in advance what you may expect.   

All surgical patients will be placed in the recovery area (PACU) following surgery. This unit, with its concentration of special equipment and skilled personnel, is designed for the care of the surgical patient during the immediate post-anesthesia period. The length of time each patient remains in the recovery is in accordance with the judgment of the physician.
